General Manager Geelong Performing Arts Centre (GPAC)
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to demonstrate outstanding leadership and business management in the arts.
More than a performing arts centre, GPAC is a leader in the arts and cultural activities of our region. This is reflected by our physical location in the heart of Geelong’s unique arts precinct and our premises which includes three major venues: the Ford and Blakiston Theatres and Costa Hall.
In any one year, over 1,600 performances, events and other arts activities take place in our venues attracting close to 230,000 audience members, with 30% of households in the region having contact with the centre in the past three years.
GPAC’s own programming includes the Alcoa Theatre Season, programming for families and children, seniors and education programs. We also support many independent producers and local companies adding to the diversity of performance available within our region.
GPAC is one of Victoria’s seven State Arts Agencies and is governed by an act of Parliament. The General Manager reports to a Trust of 11 members drawn from the region with a range of professional skills and community interests. The Trust itself reports directly to the Minister for the Arts.
GPAC is a key part of the Geelong Future Cities Project which will see the redevelopment of the Arts Precinct.
Applicants can access the position description, annual report, strategic plan, business plan and master plan vision documents from the GPAC website www.gpac.org.au, phone Sharna Gollogly at GPAC on 5225 1213 or email Tineke Barry - tineke@gpac.org.au
